Just as no garden is complete without turnips, neither is the local Chicago music scene without this up and coming pop/rock juggernaut band. Known as the Bleeding Turnips, or simply The Turnips to their fans, this four-member band blaze through one amazing set after another with their own written originals and classic covers.

Blind Man’s Bluff
Blind Man’s Bluff play Gritty, edgy, aggressive modern rock with funk influences and a strong emphasis on vocal harmony. Lyrically, the band shares its most intimate reflections through powerfully resonant storylines. And Bluff’s rock sound is surprisingly organic, a fact which stems from the band’s unabashed use of all five of their faces in every song - from screaming high vocal harmonies to the best beat boxing in the world.

Cretin
Formed in the spring of 2000, Cretin has performed under the names of Mahatma Blondie and Outshine. After a year playing as a cover band in Chicago and the surrounding areas, the band decided to focus on creating and performing original music in the summer of 2001. The addition of Keith Thackston on vocals in December 2001 solidified Cretin’s line-up. With influences ranging from Tool to Phish, Cretin has obtained a unique and original sound. Jeremy’s odd time signature riffs blended with Mike and Yoda’s grounded but free rhythm patterns create the elite musical backdrop. Ryan Hayden’s well written guitar lines and Jason Wright’s solid and energetic bass lines blended with Matthew Nevitt’s powerful vocals set the stage for this memorable listening experience.
